The developing soul. Short Essay

How does it feel to learn? I read an interesting concept of learning from a person I follow on Twitter: treat your thinking as learning a foreign language. How many times do we familiarize and claim our thinking as already part of us instead of something alien that we need to decipher?

I've been an advocate and cheerleader of note-taking for almost 6 months now. The strangeness of reading my own writing testified to the truth of the idea above. And then I thought, is that what happens to our developing soul since we learned how to think?

I saw parents answering their child's name when I asked the child their name.

I saw parents took care of basic needs of their adult child.

I saw healthcare workers took care of biological needs and disrupted the necessity to struggle. As stated by Atul Gawande on Being Mortal, Atul Gawande:

May we learn to shoot for the fine-tuned stress and care for the sustenance of our developing soul. 🌷
